Tasting San Elias Carmenere

Name San Elias Carmenere
Variety Carmenere
Region Central Valley
Country Chile
Year 2010
Price $5.95

Critic's Review The grapes for this Carmenere are selected from the vineyards in the Central Valley. Beautiful red fruit aromas. Supple and round in the mouth, the wine pairs well with full flavored cheeses and lamb.

My Thoughts This wine has a very spicy component, both on the nose and the body. Peppery and creamy tastes with hints of dark red fruits. This wine could be paired well with a variety of spicy cheeses. Creamy cheeses could also cut the spicy some. For me,  the nose of this wine was better than the flavors.

This wine was not paired with any food.
